Our Story

Banjaara, founded by Balbir (Bobby) Singh in 2003, is the culmination of Bobby's long journey in the culinary world. Starting as a chef at Sahib in Hillbrow in 1988, he opened his first restaurant, Shahmiyana, in Fordsburg, which quickly expanded to Birnam, Edenvale, and Melville.

Following the success of Shahmiyana, Bobby launched 'Sahib Indian Restaurants' with branches in Northcliff, Rivonia, Illovo, Sandton, Norwood, and Bryanston. Each of these establishments became known for their authentic North Indian cuisine.

Banjaara represents Bobby's latest venture, offering the same beloved, genuine North Indian dishes with a fresh new look. Join us for a memorable dining experience that continues Bobby Singh's legacy of culinary excellence.
